Lina Atieno Owino

Patentengineer

Lina is a patent engineer currently training for qualification as a European Patent Attorney. She exhibits a natural passion for scientific topics and her analytical mind allows her to creatively engage with new developments in modern engineering.

Her academic background in Mechatronic Engineering at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and her Doctoral Research in modeling and control of plant growth in the Chair of Dynamics and Control at the University of Duisburg Essen, has provided her with a broad foundational knowledge in multiple fields, including mechanics, electronics, information technology, nanotechnology and electrical circuit design. Before entering into the field of intellectual property, she was a university lecturer, specializing in design of mechatronic systems and electrical circuit analysis.

Lina has been at her current position since October 2023, and has since gathered valuable experience in multiple areas of patent prosecution including drafting and analysis of patent applications and provision of professional opinions. She is involved in multiple technical fields including semiconductor technology, electrical and electronic technology, optics, machine learning-based technical applications and general engineering applications.
